I Think I'm A Little Deaf...

Focused Listening - Music

What instruments can you hear?
Hello, Adele - Piano, drum(?), bass or guitar(?), vocals *duh*, keyboard (with string sound)
Hello, Conkarah, Rosie Delmah - Piano/keyboard, drums, steelpan, bass, autotune, bongos

How would you describe the singer's voice?
Hello, Adele - Soft yet powerful, comforting, deep, emotional
Hello, Conkarah, Rosie Delmah - Less raw, more tuned (not to say it's bad, it works with the style of the song), less powerful and deep, very straight forward

What kind of feel does this song have?
Hello, Adele - Apologetic, sad/emotional, regretful
Hello, Conkarah, Rosie Delmah - Happier, upbeat, still regretful, reggae

In "Get Smart" by the Melbourne Ska Orchestra...

What instrument can you hear?Too many... Kidding! Trumpets, Sax, Bass, Ukulele, Bongo, Keyboard, Tamborine, Steelpan, Trombone
Which instruments play a solo?
Trumpet, Sax, Steelpan, Trombone
How people are in the group?
Still, too many. (Apparently, it's up to 34)
What is the difference between ska and reggae?
Ska is a lot more complex and less relaxed? It has a very wide range of instruments while reggae is usually more restricted.

Wild World by Maxi Priest

Did you like this song?
Personally, no.
Why not?

  • It wasn't as upbeat as I prefer songs to be, it was rather relaxed.
  • I'm not really a huge fan of reggae, to begin with.
  • It's not the kind of song that has the kind of structure or vibe the songs I like usually have.
